Diane Chang is a journalist-turned-product manager with a decade of experience building products that empower people, media businesses, and social platforms to be active and sustainable participants in strengthening our civic fabric. She was most recently Meta’s civic integrity product manager, overseeing the development of products that empower users to safely engage with elections on Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, and WhatsApp, for major elections around the world. Prior to that, she launched streaming apps for subscription streaming services Shudder and Sundance Now on growing device platforms like Apple TV and Roku. At series C startup Flipboard, she built machine learning models to classify content by topic, and features to recommend high-quality news and magazine articles to readers. She shifted careers to tech after working as a news producer at NBC News and Bill Moyers Journal on PBS. She holds a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard Kennedy School, and is a native of Taiwan.
