Jierui Fang is a designer and artist whose work uses new media and interactions to explore the intersection of nature, technology, and human culture in living systems. She examines how biological and nature based processes, on both the human and ecological scales, shape development opportunities and wellbeing. Most recently, she led the design strategy of the first DIY automated insulin delivery system cleared by the FDA. Her art and design work has been exhibited in partnership with the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and Maker Faire; and at venues such as the Gates Discovery Foundation, Dallas Museum of Art, and Philadelphia Museum of Modern Art. She has an M.S. in Design Engineering from Stanford and a B.S. in Art & Design with minors in Computer Science and Biomedical Engineering from MIT.
